"Radical compassion expresses the truth of our interdependence and mutual belonging. Living true to ourselves becomes, in its fullness, living true to our collective path of healing and freedom, our shared yearning for a peaceful, loving world."

Lauren Steury, AMFT
As a relational therapist, I believe healing happens through connection. The experiences we carry from our past shape our present, often in ways we don’t intend. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their past, present, and future, make sense of relationship patterns, and gain deeper self-understanding. My approach is warm, direct, and engaged—I actively participate in the therapy process, helping clients recognize the dynamics that may be keeping them stuck.

Specializing in Queer Identity, Complex Trauma, and Relational Challenges
LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy
Complex Trauma
Relationships and Couples+ Therapy
My practice affirms and celebrates queer and trans identities, providing a space where clients can explore their experiences with validation and care. I help clients navigate internalized stigma, family dynamics, and societal pressures while centering their resilience and self-determination.
I guide clients through trauma healing by acknowledging both ongoing, personal trauma and the systemic factors that did not allow for healing. My approach integrates IFS, narrative therapy, and mindfulness to support clients in processing their past while reclaiming agency and self-compassion.
Sex Therapy
Identity Exploration & Life Transitions
I support individuals and partners—monogamous, polyamorous, and ethically non-monogamous—in strengthening communication, trust, and emotional intimacy. My approach examines relational patterns through the lens of attachment, family influences, and external systemic pressures, fostering deeper connection and understanding.
Burnout in Activism & Care Work
My work is sex-positive, kink-aware, and deeply attuned to the ways shame, trauma, and relational histories impact sexual expression. I provide a space where clients can explore desire, boundaries, and pleasure, while challenging societal narratives that limit sexual agency and fulfillment.
Whether navigating shifts in gender, sexuality, relationships, career, or family roles, I support clients in making sense of change by exploring the intersections of personal agency, social expectations, and internalized narratives.
For therapists, activists, social workers, sex workers, and those in caregiving roles, I offer support in navigating burnout, vicarious trauma, and the emotional toll of working within unjust systems while fostering practices of collective care and self-sustainability. I also offer introductory trainings for other therapists on how to work competently with sex workers.
